Abstract

Die letzten Teile des Zettel-Zentralkatalogs des Hochschulbibliothekszentrums des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen in Köln (HBZ) sind jetzt für die Öffentlichkeit im Internet zugänglich: rund 890.000 Katalogzettel mit Bestandsnachweisen aus rund 130 Bibliotheken in Nordrhein-Westfalen und dem nördlichen Rheinland-Pfalz wurden digitalisiert und stehen nun als sog. Images (Abbilder der - teilweise handgeschriebenen - Katalogkarten) bereit unter der URL: http://imagekataloge.hbz-nrw.de/katalog-start.html Enthalten sind die Segmente - Monographien 1986-1990 - Zeitschriften / Serien / Kongresse mit Erscheinungsbeginn vor 1976 - Supplement zum Katalog Zeitschriften / Serien / Kongresse. Zum Teil sind die Nachweise auch schon im elektronischen HBZ-Verbundkatalog (WWW-OPAC) enthalten. Es sollte unbedingt immer zuerst dort recherchiert werden, denn dort sind die Nachweise tagesaktuell, die Recherche ist für Profis differenzierter und für Laien einfacher, und die Bücher können auch gleich per Mausklick bestellt werden. Wenn man im WWW-OPAC aber nicht fündig geworden ist, lohnt sich eine ergänzende Suche in den Imagekatalogen. Den Zugang zu diesen Beständen konnte man sich bislang nur dadurch erschließen, dass man konventionelle "rote Leihscheine" zum HBZ schickte, wo dann von Fachkräften in den Zettelkatalogen recherchiert und der Leihschein an die besitzende Bibliothek weitergesandt wurde. Ab sofort können alle Interessenten und kann jede Fernleihstelle selbst prüfen, ob es für einen bisher vergeblich gesuchten Titel doch noch einen Nachweis in der Region gibt, und die Bestellung auf elektronischem Wege direkt an die betreffende Bibliothek schicken. Damit wird die Fernleihe wieder ein wenig schneller und komfortabler.
