- Abstract
- Es werden die Grundprobleme der Sacherschließung in Online-Katalogen dargestellt. Ein anschließendes Kapitel behandelt das Verhältnis von verbaler und klassifikatorischer Erschließung. Ein wichtiger Teil der Aussagen betrifft das Gebiet der verbalen Sacherschließung und damit das nationale Regelwerk: Es werden Vorschläge für eine Reform der RSWK im Hinblick auf die Erfordernisse der OPAC unterbreitet. Regelwerk und Normdatei (SWD) bilden dabei eine Einheit und werden zusammen betrachtet. Im vergangenen Jahr wurden die Ergebnisse der Expertengruppe mit dem Schwerpunkt Formalerschließung vorgelegt, nun folgen die Aussagen zur Sacherschließung, welche die Expertengruppe - in veränderter personeller Zusammensetzung unter Leitung von Dr. Friedrich Geißelmann, Regensburg - erarbeitet hat. Die bibliothekarische Öffentlichkeit ist aufgefordert, sich dazu bis zum Jahresende zu äußern. Beide Berichte beziehen sich aufeinander und versuchen, den Zusammenhang zwischen Formal- und Sacherschließung herzustellen. Vom gegenwärtigen Stand der Sacherschließung in deutschen Bibliotheken ausgehend - wozu auch durch die Gruppe im Frühjahr 1993 eine Umfrage in wissenschaftlichen und Öffentlichen Bibliotheken gemacht worden ist, werden die Grundprobleme der Sacherschließung in Online-Katalogen dargestellt. Ein anschließendes Kapitel behandelt das Verhältnis von verbaler und klassifikatorischer Erschließung. - Abstract
- Die Inhaltserschließung durch Schlagwörter wird aktuell in vielen Öffentlichen Bibliotheken Deutschlands zurückgefahren. Aufgrund von Personalmangel und den vielfältigen anderen bibliothekarischen Dienstleistungen, die für die Benutzer zu leisten sind, kommt sie oft zu kurz. Die Deutsche Nationalbibliothek unterstützte diese Bibliotheken bisher als wichtigster Datenlieferant, jedoch stellte sie 2017 die intellektuelle Inhaltserschließung der Kinder- und Jugendliteratur und der Belletristik ein. Um diese problematische Situation zu verbessern, wird aktuell in der Deutschen Nationalbibliothek ein Verfahren erprobt, das aus Schlagwörtern von Verlagen maschinell bibliothekarische Schlagwörter aus der Gemeinsamen Normdatei generiert. Auf die Titel der Kinder- und Jugendliteratur aus den Jahren 2018 und 2019 wurde es bereits angewendet. In dieser Arbeit geht es um eine erste Analyse dieser Erschließungsergebnisse, um Aussagen über die Nützlichkeit der Verlagsschlagwörter und des automatischen Verfahrens zu treffen. Im theoretischen Teil werden einerseits die Inhaltserschließung im bibliothekarischen Bereich und deren aktuelle Entwicklungen hinsichtlich der Automatisierung beschrieben. Andererseits wird näher auf die Erschließungspraxis in der Deutschen Nationalbibliothek hinsichtlich der Automatisierung und der Kinder- und Jugendliteratur eingegangen. Im Analyseteil werden sowohl die Verlagsschlagwörter als auch die bibliothekarischen Schlagwörter nach festgelegten Kriterien untersucht und schließlich miteinander verglichen.

- Abstract
- Die kooperative Führung der Schlagwortnormdatei und die Gewährleistung der Qualität der in ihr enthaltenen Daten sind mit einem enormen Aufwand verbunden, der durch den Einsatz der EDV und geeignete Organisationsstrukturen nur geringfügig reduziert werden kann. Die Erstellung der SWD-Normdatensätze bleibt aufgrund der Vielzahl der den Ansetzungsformen beizufügenden Zusatzinformationen wie Codes, Notationen und Relationen relativ zeitintensiv. Diese lassen jedoch auch die SWD besonders wertvoll für die Recherche werden, da sie die Wiederauffindbarkeit der Daten unterstützen. Während die Schlagwortsuche in deutschen OPACs weit verbreitet ist, haben Codes, Notationen und Relationen bisher nur geringfügig Eingang in den OPAC gefunden. Bei einer Untersuchung von 111 Online-Katalogen wurde festgestellt, dass kein einziger OPAC all die Möglichkeiten nutzt, die mit der SWD gegeben sind. Am meisten werden noch Synonyme und - in geringerem Maße - hierarchische und assoziative Relationen zur Verbesserung des Recalls und zur Benutzerführung eingesetzt. Codes und Notationen finden nur vereinzelt Anwendung.

- Die Sach-Schlagworte 'Population ...', 'Populisme ...' aus der SWD werden mit den entsprechenden Stichwörtern aus 'DUDEN: Das große Wörterbuch ... 1-8, 1993' und 'BROCKHAUS: Deutsches Wörterbuch ... 1-6, 1983' verglichen. Es wird vorgeschlagen, die thesaurusartigen Begriffsbeziehungen und die Systematiknotationen in der SWD zu streichen und anstattdessen die fachlichen, stilistischen, zeitlichen und räumlichen Zuordnungen zusammen mit den Bedeutungsangaben aus den genannten Wörterbüchern zu übernehmen.
