    Abstract
    Die vorliegende Arbeit untersucht am Beispiel des Studienfaches Biologie an der TU Darmstadt die Möglichkeiten der Vermittlung fachspezifischer Informationskompetenz als integralem Bestandteil der neuen Bachelor-Studiengänge durch die ULB Darmstadt und die Akzeptanz dieser Vermittlung durch die Professoren des Fachbereichs Biologie. Grundlage der Untersuchung bilden eine Einführung in die Entwicklung der Vermittlung von Informationskompetenz im Bibliothekswesen, eine Darstellung der spezifischen Anforderungen des Faches Biologie an die Vermittlung von Informationskompetenz, eine Beschreibung der Veranstaltungen zur Vermittlung dieser Schlüsselqualifikation im Fachbereich Biologie der TUD und eine Darlegung der Aktivitäten der ULB Darmstadt zur Vermittlung von Informationskompetenz sowie insbesondere die Ergebnisse leitfadengestützter qualitativer Interviews, die mit den Professorinnen und Professoren des Fachbereichs Biologie durchgeführt wurden. Die Ergebnisse der Untersuchung zeigen deutlich, dass Informationskompetenz nicht nur von den Bibliothekaren, sondern auch von den Professorinnen und Professoren als unabdingbare Schlüsselqualifikation für Studium und Forschung angesehen wird. Es wird festgestellt, welche Schulungszeitpunkte und -modelle von den Professorinnen und Professoren favorisiert werden. Die Ergebnisse zeigen aber auch die Schwierigkeiten bei der Vermittlung fachspezifischer Informationskompetenz in dem naturwissenschaftlichen Fach Biologie auf und lassen Probleme der Professorinnen und Professoren bei der Akzeptanz der Vermittlung durch die Bibliothek erkennen. Es wird notwendig sein, bei der Vermittlung von Informationskompetenz eine enge inhaltliche Verbindung zur universitären Lehre des Faches Biologie herzustellen.

    Abstract
    Werden Maschinen mit Begriffen beschrieben, die ursprünglich der Beschreibung des Menschen dienen, so liegt zunächst der Verdacht nahe, dass jene Maschinen spezifischmenschliche Fähigkeiten oder Eigenschaften besitzen. Für körperliche Fähigkeiten, die mechanisch nachgeahmt werden, hat sich in der Alltagssprache eine anthropomorphisierende Sprechweise bereits etabliert. So wird kaum in Frage gestellt, dass bestimmte Maschinen weben, backen, sich bewegen oder arbeiten können. Bei nichtkörperlichen Eigenschaften, etwa kognitiver, sozialer oder moralischer Art sieht dies jedoch anders aus. Dass mittlerweile intelligente und rechnende Maschinen im alltäglichen Sprachgebrauch Eingang gefunden haben, wäre jedoch undenkbar ohne den langjährigen Diskurs über Künstliche Intelligenz, welcher insbesondere die zweite Hälfte des vergangenen Jahrhunderts geprägt hat. In jüngster Zeit ist es der Autonomiebegriff, welcher zunehmend Verwendung zur Beschreibung neuer Technologien findet, wie etwa "autonome mobile Roboter" oder "autonome Systeme". Dem Begriff nach rekurriert die "Autonomie" jener Technologien auf eine bestimmte Art technologischen Fortschritts, die von der Fähigkeit zur Selbstgesetzgebung herrührt. Dies wirft aus philosophischer Sicht jedoch die Frage auf, wie die Selbstgesetzgebung in diesem Fall definiert ist, zumal sich der Autonomiebegriff in der Philosophie auf die politische oder moralische Selbstgesetzgebung von Menschen oder Menschengruppen beziehungsweise ihre Handlungen bezieht. Im Handbuch Robotik hingegen führt der Autor geradezu beiläufig die Bezeichnung "autonom" ein, indem er prognostiziert, dass "[.] autonome Roboter in Zukunft sogar einen Großteil der Altenbetreuung übernehmen werden."

    Abstract
    In dem Maße, in dem sich die Wissenschaften partikularisieren und atomisieren, wird es immer schwieriger, Überblick zu gewinnen auch schon über nah verwandte Wissenschaften. Daher wächst die Bedeutung der Klassifizierung hinsichtlich ihrer pragmatischen Funktionen stark an. Zudem sind es heute besonders die Querschnittswissenschaften, die im Zentrum des Forschungsinteresses stehen. Dort werden derzeit die größten Fortschritte gemacht. Man denke dabei nur an die Krebsforschung, die sich im molekularen Bereich in einen Forschungsraum zwischen Chemie und Biologie bewegt. Gerade die Medizin bietet viele Beispiele dieser die Wissenschaftsgrenzen überschreitenden Forschungen: der ganze Bereich der Gentechnik, die Nanotechnik, aber auch die medizinische Informatik und Robotik. Aus diesem Grund sind es nicht nur pragmatische Funktionen, die von einer heutigen Wissenschaftsklassifikation bedient werden müssen, sondern auch epistemologische. Wissenschaftsklassifikationen bieten die Möglichkeit, Zusammenhänge zwischen den Wissenschaften erkennbar machen und eröffnen damit unter Umständen neue Wege der Forschung. Dennoch geriet die Wissenschaftsklassifikation gerade in den letzten Jahren in eine Krise. Die Absage an die Systemhaftigkeit des Ganzen der Wissenschaft, die sich im Zuge der postmodernen Theorie durchgesetzt hat, stellte die Wissenschaftsklassifikation vor Probleme, die sie mit den üblichen Ansätzen nicht lösen konnte. Neue Wege der Klassifikation vor dem Hintergrund der Erkenntnisse dieser neuen Theorieansätze galt es nun zu finden. Jede Zeit findet sich ihre Problemlösungswege, und so hat sich auch für die Wissenschaftsklassifikation der Gegenwart neue Möglichkeiten eröffnet, die sich mit Hilfe der neuen Medien verwirklichen lassen.
    Durch die rasche Vermehrung und erhöhte Verschränkung der Wissenschaften stoßen die klassischen zweidimensionalen und hierarchischen Klassifikationen heute an eine Grenze. Die eindeutige Hierarchisierung kann hier nur auf Kosten der potentiell auszubildenden Beziehungen zwischen den zu klassifizierenden Wissenschaften gehen, denn, um die Logik der Hierarchie zu bewahren, muss häufig auf die Logik der inhaltlichen Zusammenhänge verzichten werden. Eine Lösung in Form von mehrdimensionalen Verbindungen und In-Bezug-Setzungen bieten die Darstellungsmöglichkeiten der neuen Medien. Einen Schritt in diese Richtung unternahm ARTUR P. SCHMIDT mit seinem 1999 auch als CD-Rom erschienen 'Wissensnavigator'. Unter Bezugnahme auf Deleuzes und Guattaris 'Rhizom' fordert er eine ungehinderte Vernetzung des Wissens in alle Richtungen. Er sieht sich damit im Einklang mit den Entwicklungen seiner Zeit. Interaktive Benutzung soll diese totale Vernetzung des Wissens generieren, indem der Benutzer der Enzyklopädie durch seine Anfragen bei ihrer Evolution mitwirkt. Die Darstellbarkeit dieser Vernetzung soll mit Hilfe eines sich in einem 4-dimensionalen Raum befindlichen "Hyperkubus" ermöglicht werden, der "in einer Matrix ein neuronales Netzwerk" enthalten soll. Neben diesem wohl noch als utopisch zu bezeichnenden Projekt gibt es derzeit eine Anzahl konservativerer Ansätze der Klassifizierung im Internet, die größte Differenzierungen erlauben, aber auf ungeregelte 'Hyperverlinkung' verzichten. Sollten jedoch Projekte wie die ARTUR P. SCHMIDTS realisiert werden können, so ist damit vielleicht auch Nietzsches Forderung zu erfüllen, die er noch in weiter Ferne vermutete.
    Mit Hilfe mehrdimensionaler In-Bezug-Setzungen könnte auch einem wechselseitigen Prozess entgegnet werden, der sich seit gut einem Jahrhundert mehr und mehr dynamisierte: Gleichzeitig mit dem Differenzierungsprozess der Wissenschaften, der besonders in den letzten Jahrzehnten immer rascher fortschreitet und hybride Wissenschaftsbezeichnungen wie 'Physikochemie', 'Biophysik' oder 'Soziobiologie' entstehen ließ, geht ein Integrationsprozess einher, der diese Wissenschaften sich wieder annähern lässt. Diese Gleichzeitigkeit der entgegengesetzten Prozesse von Differenzierung und Integration könnte eine neue Form der Einheit der Wissenschaften schaffen, die eine Entwicklung der Wissenschaften zu einem einheitlichen Ganzes in Gang setzt. Damit könnten die großen Potentiale, die in diesem dialektischen Prozess von Differenzierung und Integration hinsichtlich neuer Forschungsergebnisse verwirklicht werden.

    Abstract
    Vorgestellt wird die Konstruktion eines thematisch geordneten Thesaurus auf Basis der Sachschlagwörter der Gemeinsamen Normdatei (GND) unter Nutzung der darin enthaltenen DDC-Notationen. Oberste Ordnungsebene dieses Thesaurus werden die DDC-Sachgruppen der Deutschen Nationalbibliothek. Die Konstruktion des Thesaurus erfolgt regelbasiert unter der Nutzung von Linked Data Prinzipien in einem SPARQL Prozessor. Der Thesaurus dient der automatisierten Gewinnung von Metadaten aus wissenschaftlichen Publikationen mittels eines computerlinguistischen Extraktors. Hierzu werden digitale Volltexte verarbeitet. Dieser ermittelt die gefundenen Schlagwörter über Vergleich der Zeichenfolgen Benennungen im Thesaurus, ordnet die Treffer nach Relevanz im Text und gibt die zugeordne-ten Sachgruppen rangordnend zurück. Die grundlegende Annahme dabei ist, dass die gesuchte Sachgruppe unter den oberen Rängen zurückgegeben wird. In einem dreistufigen Verfahren wird die Leistungsfähigkeit des Verfahrens validiert. Hierzu wird zunächst anhand von Metadaten und Erkenntnissen einer Kurzautopsie ein Goldstandard aus Dokumenten erstellt, die im Online-Katalog der DNB abrufbar sind. Die Dokumente vertei-len sich über 14 der Sachgruppen mit einer Losgröße von jeweils 50 Dokumenten. Sämtliche Dokumente werden mit dem Extraktor erschlossen und die Ergebnisse der Kategorisierung do-kumentiert. Schließlich wird die sich daraus ergebende Retrievalleistung sowohl für eine harte (binäre) Kategorisierung als auch eine rangordnende Rückgabe der Sachgruppen beurteilt.

    Abstract
    Die beiden Leitbegriffe des Titels - Buchtitel zugleich einschlägiger Werke - bezeichnen eine Alternative in der frühneuzeitlichen Speicherung und Vermittlung von Wissen: die möglichst umfassende Thesaurierung überkommener Wissensbestände beziehungsweise ihre kritische Sichtung und Auswahl unter bestimmten Relevanzgesichtspunkten. Der eine Titel stammt von dem Zürcher Polyhistor Konrad Gessner, der andere von dem Jesuiten Antonio Possevino. Voraussetzung beider Unternehmen ist der Buchdruck, der etwa hundert Jahre nach seiner Erfindung in bis dahin unerhörtem Ausmaß Schrifttradition zugänglich gemacht hat, aber durch die schiere Quantität zunehmend Strategien zu ihrer Sicherung und Nutzbarmachung verlangt. Der Bibliotheca universalis wie der Bibliotheca selecta geht es um Orientierung in einem immer unübersichtlicheren Bestand schriftlich tradierten Wissens, der den Wissensfortschritt zu behindern droht. Beide haben also nicht wissenschaftliche Erkenntnis selbst, sondern ihre Vermittlung zum Ziel, und sie wollen kein System des Wißbaren entwerfen, sondern auf der Basis hergebrachter Ordnungen des Wissens den Leser dazu anleiten, sich in jenem Bestand zurechtzufinden. Es ist ein erster Vorzug dieser Münchner Dissertation, daß sie dieses Problem rekonstruiert, so daß das frühneuzeitliche Projekt der Bibliothek nicht mehr am falschen Maßstab der Enzyklopädie als Summe des Wißbaren gemessen wird.

    "Die vorliegende Arbeit befasst sich mit den Methoden und Verfahren bei der Archivierung von Internetressourcen. Ziel ist es, anhand einer vergleichenden Beschreibung zweier zur Zeit aktiver, bzw. im Aufbau befindlicher Projekte, die Grundprobleme dieser speziellen Art der Archivierung darzustellen und deren unterschiedliche Vorgehensweisen beim Aufbau des Archivs zu beschreiben und zu vergleichen. Daraus erfolgt eine Diskussion über grundsätzliche Fragestellungen zu diesem Thema. Hierzu ist es vonnöten, zuerst auf das besondere Medium Internet, insbesondere auf das World Wide Web (WWW), einzugehen, sowie dessen Geschichte und Entstehung zu betrachten. Weiterhin soll ein besonderes Augenmerk auf die Datenmenge, die Datenstruktur und die Datentypen (hier vor allem im World Wide Web) gelegt werden. Da die daraus entstehenden Probleme für Erschließung und Retrieval, die Qualität und die Fluktuation der Angebote im Web eine wichtige Rolle im Rahmen der Archivierung von Internetressourcen darstellen, werden diese gesondert mittels kurzer Beschreibungen bestimmter Instrumente und Projekte zur Lösung derselben beschrieben. Hier finden insbesondere Suchmaschinen und Webkataloge, deren Arbeitsweise und Aufbau besondere Beachtung. Weiterhin sollen die "Virtuelle Bibliothek" und das "Dublin Core"- Projekt erläutert werden. Auf dieser Basis wird dann speziell auf das allgemeine Thema der Archivierung von Internetressourcen eingegangen. Ihre Grundgedanken und ihre Ziele sollen beschrieben und erste Diskussionsfragen und Diskrepanzen aufgezeigt werden. Ein besonderes Augenmerk gilt hier vor allem den technischen und rechtlichen Problemen, sowie Fragen des Jugendschutzes und der Zugänglichkeit zu mittlerweile verbotenen Inhalten. Einzelne Methoden der Archivierung, die vor allem im folgenden Teil anhand von Beispielen Beachtung finden, werden kurz vorgestellt. Im darauf folgenden Teil werden zwei Archivierungsprojekte detailliert beschrieben und analysiert. Einem einführenden Überblick über das jeweilige Projekt, folgen detaillierte Beschreibungen zu Projektverlauf, Philosophie und Vorgehensweise. Die Datenbasis und das Angebot, sowie die Funktionalitäten werden einer genauen Untersuchung unterzogen. Stärken und Schwächen werden genannt, und wenn möglich, untereinander verglichen. Hier ist vor allem auch die Frage von Bedeutung, ob das Angebot a) den Ansprüchen und Zielsetzungen des Anbieters genügt, und ob es b) den allgemeinen Grundfragen der Archivierung von Internetressourcen gleichkommt, die in Kapitel 3 genannt worden sind. Auf Basis aller Teile soll dann abschließend der derzeitige Stand im Themengebiet diskutiert werden. Die Arbeit schließt mit einer endgültigen Bewertung und alternativen Lösungen."

    Abstract
    Ziel ist die Bewertung meist einsprachiger (weniger mehrsprachiger) Online-Fachlexika mit einschlägigen Usability- und Accessibility-Kriterien und solchen der Lexikographie. Nach Behandlung der theoretischen Grundlagen der Usability-Forschung, der Accessibility-Guidelines zur Nutzung von Websites und der Lexikographie, werden Bewertungskriterien (Heuristiken), Abläufe der heuristischen Evaluation (keine Benutzertests) und die Präsentation der Ergebnisse erarbeitet. Getestet werden im Internet frei zugängliche, kostenlose Fachlexika und Glossare und die Ergebnisse in einer entwickelten php/MySOL-Datenbank präsentiert, mit Empfehlungen für die bessere Gestaltung der Online-Nachschlagewerke.
