    Describes the thesaurus that has been created at the Library of the Polish Parliament and is one element of the STEBIS system (System Tezaurusow Biblioteki Sejmowej).     Abstract
    Gives a general description of USMARC records for authority files with more detailed information on the fields used in subject headings authority files. The most important record types are explained with the use of appropriate examples. The maintenance of a subject headings vocabulary in authority file and the development of a headings language. In Poland there is no authority file maintained by the national bibliographic centre. Libraries using VTLS software have cooperated in the development of KABA, a common subject heading authority file located on the Warsaw University Library computer system
