Abstract
OhioLINK, a consortium of Ohio academic libraries in both the public and private sector, is one of the first major attemps in the USA to create a virtual, statewide, library system. In addition to linking the holdings of participating libraries within the context of a 48 hour document delivery system for books and periodical articles, OhioLINK provides the platform as well as for the statewide delivery of commercial and other databases. Gopher Internet access, and experimentation tools. OhioLINK also represents a creative approach to state funding and computerized system design. Compares OhioLINK with OCLC
