- Abstract
- Das lang geplante Großprojekt eines Verzeichnisses der im deutschen Sprachraum erschienenen Drucke des 17. Jahrhunderts ist nach Abschluss der Vorbereitungsphase im Dezember 1995 in diesem Jahr in die Hauptphase eingetreten. Die Vorgeschichte, die inhaltlich-konzeptuellen Eckpfeiler sowie die Entwicklung und Realisierung dieses nationalen Unternehmens werden im folgenden in einem notwendigerweise komprimierten Überblick rekapituliert. Dabei erweist sich - sicherlich paradigmatisch für ein bibliographisches Projekt der Informationsgesellschaft -, daß die Darstellung der technischen Grundlagen ein ebenso großes Gewicht erhält wie die Fragen von Regelwerk und Erschließungstiefe

- Abstract
- Die zunehmende Verbreitung und Bedeutung elektronischer Publikationen stellt das System der Archivierung und Überlieferungsbildung, das in Deutschland durch die gesetzliche Regelung der Pflichtablieferung auf Bund- und Länderebene gesichert war, vor eine neue Herausforderung. Der Beitrag gibt einen Überblick über die Aktivitäten Der Deutschen Bibliothek und der regionalen Pflichtexemplarbibliotheken für die Schaffung einer gesetzlichen Basis, die der veränderten Publikationslandschaft Rechnung trägt, und über den aktuellen Stand der entsprechenden Regelungen in Deutschland. Gleichzeitig werden offene Fragen angesprochen, die über die gesetzliche Regelung hinausgehen und für die Herausbildung einer neuen und tragfähigen Infrastruktur der Überlieferungsbildung notwendig sind.

- Abstract
- Die laufende Umgestaltung des etablierten Systems der von der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) geförderten Sondersammelgebiete in Fachinformationsdienste für die Wissenschaft wird in der bibliothekarischen Öffentlichkeit, nicht nur von den betroffenen Bibliotheken, intensiv diskutiert. Der Beitrag schildert den Übergang von den Sondersammelgebieten zu Fachinformationsdiensten aus der Perspektive einer betroffenen Bibliothek, der Universitätsbibliothek Tübingen. Dabei werden sowohl die Konzepte, die die Bibliothek für ihre bereits gestellten Fachinformationsanträge verfolgte, dargestellt als auch bibliotheksübergreifende Überlegungen zur Umgestaltung des Sondersammelgebietssystems und seinen Konsequenzen angestellt.

- Digitale Bibliotheken unterstützen heute Forschungsaktivitäten in verschiedensten Fachbereichen. Auch die Geisteswissenschaften profitieren dabei von der rasanten technologischen Entwicklung.
