Sabine Thänert vom Deutschen Archäologischen Institut (DAI) berichtete über die »Erfahrungen mit einem Umstieg auf AACR und MARC« und machte deutlich, dass und warum für das - international operierende und in internationalen Verbünden engagierte- DAI der Anlass eines Systemwechsels in diesem speziellen Fall auch die Entscheidung für die Anwendung der AACR sinnvoll machte. Bernhard Eversberg thematisierte die Perspektiven der geplanten Weiterentwicklung der AACR bis 2006 und machte deutlich, dass dort umzusetzende neue Denkmodelle auch in die Weiterentwicklung der RAK einfließen würden, sodass die Lösung letztendlich in einer Annäherung der beiden Regelwerke zu finden sei. Monika Münnich (UB Heidelberg) fragte: »Wie viel AACR braucht RAK? - Perspektiven einer neuen RAK« und stellte die - an den AACR orientierte - neu entworfene Grundstruktur eines künftigen Regelwerks vor. Es ist beabsichtigt, den Teil I der AACR2r (das heißt die bibliographische Beschreibung) so wörtlich wie möglich zu übernehmen, nicht jedoch die Bestimmungen für Haupt- und Nebeneintragungen beziehungsweise Ansetzung von Namen. Bei der Namensansetzung muss lediglich erreicht werden, dass die Entitäten von RAK und AACR übereinstimmen, um die Teilnahme an einer internationalen Normdatei zu gewährleisten.
