Abstract

Wie müssen wir virtuelle Rundgänge und Online-Tutorials gestalten, damit sie ihre Zielgruppe auch wirklich erreichen? Worauf müssen wir bei einer guten Präsentation unseres OPACs achten? Was machen wir mit großen Schülergruppen? Diesen Fragen stellten sich insgesamt 22 Bibliothekarinnen und Bibliothekare in Münster und Köln während zweier Fortbildungsveranstaltungen des HBZ im Juni 2003. Ziel der jeweils zweitägigen Workshops, die in Zusammenarbeit mit der Adhoc-Arbeitsgruppe "Informationskompetenz" der AG der Universitätsbibliotheken im VBNW konzipiert wurden, waren Konzepte und erste Schritte zur Umsetzung von elektronischen Angeboten zur Vermittlung von Bibliotheksbzw. Informationskompetenz. Dem voraus ging die konstruktive Bewertung von bereits existierenden Materialien, die zum einen von den Teilnehmern aus ihren Bibliotheken mitgebracht wurden, zum anderen über Bibliotheks-Homepages abrufbar waren. Die Teilnehmer, die in ihren Bibliotheken bereits Benutzerschulungen konzipieren und durchführen, beschäftigten sich dabei in Gruppen u.a. mit den Themen - Virtuelle Rundgänge, - Online-Tutorials - Bibliothekseinführungen für Schüler und Erstsemester - Präsentationen von Online-Katalog und Methoden zur Literatursuche. Im Folgenden werden einige wesentliche und manchmal durchaus kontrovers diskutierte Ergebnisse und Thesen wiedergegeben, die sich aus der Arbeit der Teilnehmer ergeben haben. Sie erheben keinen Anspruch auf Ausgewogenheit oder Vollständigkeit, können aber als Anregungen und Diskussionsgrundlage für zukünftige Projekte dienen.

Abstract: Die Universitätsbibliothek Freiburg bietet Kurse zur Entwicklung und Förderung von Informations- und Medienkompetenz an, die nicht auf den Umgang mit bibliographischen Quellen beschränkt, sondern auf den nicht minder wichtigen Umgang mit Multimedia erweitert sind. Eine andere Herausforderung betrifft die Bewältigung des Massenproblems infolge hoher Studierendenzahlen in manchen Fächern. Allein durch Präsenzveranstaltungen dürfte es kaum möglich sein, die steigende Nachfrage nach Bibliothekskursen zu befriedigen. Es bedarf der Unterstützung durch virtuelle Lernangebote, die seit dem Jahr 2003 erprobt und praktisch umgesetzt werden.

Abstract

Ob sie ihre Abende und Wochenenden lieber im Biergarten verbringen sollte, als ein Online-Tutorial zu stricken, fragte Janet MacKenzie von der Bibliothek der Institute am Englischen Garten der UB München am 5. Mai in INETBIB. Die Frage verdankte sich ihrer Beobachtung, dass Studierende als Hauptnutzer einer UB immer weniger bereit sind, die konventionellen Einführungsangebote wahrzunehmen. Sie erbitten statt dessen immer mehr die gerade benötigte Suchhilfe am Auskunftsschalter "just in time". Aber vielleicht ist gerade da ein Online-Tutorial die richtige Lösung: als spielerische, zeitlich und räumlich unabhängige Möglichkeit, die Bibliothek kennenzulernen und Informationskompetenz zu erwerben. Soweit ich sehe, ist das Tutorial der Münchner noch nicht am Netz. Aber andere, vor allem im angloamerikanischen Raum, bieten Bibliothekstutorials schon länger an. TILT, das Texas Information Literacy Tutorial, ist seit einigen Jahren das bekannteste Beispiel. Auch in Deutschland hat sich einiges getan. Seit 1999 gibt es den Schlauen Det der Bibliothek der Fachhochschule Hamburg. Im BIBLIOTHEKSDIENST 7 (2003) wurde das Tutorial der UB Lüneburg vorgestellt, das Tutorial der UB Kassel basiert auf der Lüneburger Software. Abstract

Eine Vielzahl von Bibliotheken aus dem Bereich der Obersten Bundesbehörden wird ihren Kunden bis Ende des Jahres 2003 ein gemeinsames Bibliotheksportal mit einem behördenübergreifenden Informations- und Dienstleistungsangebot präsentieren. Die Mitarbeiter in den Behörden bekommen über eine einheitlich strukturierte Portaloberfläche einen koordinierten Zugang zu dem breiten Spektrum an Informationsinhalten und -dienste, das die beteiligten Bibliotheken anzubieten haben. Ziel der Bibliotheken ist es, mit dem Bibliotheksportal ein Kompetenzzentrum für die Obersten Bundesbehörden im IVBB zu schaffen, das sich durch eine benutzerfreundliche, effektive und von einer hohen Qualität geprägten Informationsversorgung auszeichnet.

Abstract: Vom ersten Entwurf eines Grobkonzepts 1998/1999 bis hin zur Umsetzung in den einzelnen Stadtteilbibliotheken in Eigenregie seit Frühjahr 2003 habe ich die Implementierung von ISAR - dem Kundeninformationssystem der Münchner Stadtbibliothek - größtenteils federführend betreut.
