- Dieser Aufsatz soll denjenigen lesern, die bisher noch wenig über Bildschirmtext wissen, einen kurzen Einblick geben. Dazu werden folgende 9 Fragen beantwortet: Was ist eigentlich Bildschirmtext? Worin bestehen die Möglichkeiten dieser Konfiguration? Welche Bedeutung hat Bildschirmtext als 'Neues Medium'? Wie gehen Benutzung und Input von Bildschirmtext praktisch vor sich? Welche verwandten Technologien gibt es? Wie ist der gegenwärtige Stand in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland? Was weiß man bisher über die Akzeptanz? Welche Entwicklungstendenzen zeichnen sich ab? und schließlich: welche Bedeutung hat Btx für Information und Dokumentation?

- Abstract
- Rund 10 Jahre nach dem Start von Btx als Fernmeldedienst der Deutschen Bundespost stellt sich die Frage nach der Funktion dieses Mediums. Obwohl sich Btx bisher nicht als Massenmedium etablieren konnte, existieren heute einige erfolgreiche professionelle Anwendungen, z.B. in der Touristik, bei Banken oder im Versicherungswesen. Vor allem die preisgünstigen Netzkosten im Vergleich zu anderen Diensten spielen hier eine Rolle. Von den 165.000 Teilnehmern nutzen lediglich 21% dieses Medium für private Zwecke. Der intensive Gebrauch von Externen Rechnern und Geschlossenen Benutzergruppen läßt erwarten, daß Btx schwerpunktmäßig im geschäftlichen Bereich seine Zukunft haben dürfte

- Abstract
- Nicht nur das traditionelle bibliothekarische Auskunftsinterview, sondern auch die Befragung bzw. Beratung, die im Zusammenhang mit der bibliothekarischen Dienstleistung des Online Information Retrieval zwischen Rechercheur und Endbenutzer abläuft, ist in der Literatur vielfach praxisbezogener, aber auch theoretischer Abhandlungen. Der gesamte Interviewprozeß läßt sich in 4 Phasen gliedern, deren zweite, das der Recherche vorausgehende 'Presearch-Interview' im engeren Sinn, für das Gelingen der Online-Suche besonders wichtig ist. Die dabei inhaltlich und formal wesentlichen Aspekte können in Form praktischer Gebrauchsanweisungen aufgelistet werden. Weiter sind Interview-Stil und -Verhalten von Bedeutung; auftretende Kommunikationsbarrieren können durch Einsatz nichtverbaler Kommunikationstechniken und einfühlsames Beraterverhalten überwunden werden. Eine neue Variante des Auskunftsinterviews ist das sog. 'Presearch-Counseling', das bei der Beratung von Bibliotheksbenutzern, die endbenutzergerechte Online-Retrievalsysteme verwenden, erforderlich sind

- Abstract
- In der Bibliothek der Universität Konstanz werden seit eineinhalb Jahren CD-ROM-Datenbanken für Endnutzerrecherchen angeboten. Der Benutzungsstatistik zufolge werden die CD-ROM-Datenbanken häufig verwendet, und die Benutzer sind mit den Ergebnissen ihrer Recherchen überwiegend zufrieden. Eien detaillierte Analyse der Protokolle von 52 recherchen zeigt jedoch, daß die Endnutzer Schwierigkeiten mit der Systembedienung haben und ihre Suchanfragen häufig unzulänglich formulieren. Konsequenzen für die Entwicklung von Schulungsprogrammen und für die Einbindung von CD-ROM-Datenbanken in das Informationsangebot wissenschaftlicher Bibliotheken werden aufgezeigt

- Abstract
- In der Bundesrepublik Deutschland haben die Bemühungen um eine effektive Bürgerinformation in den vergangenen Jahren an Qualität und Quantität deutlich zugenommen. Dennoch mangelt es zur Zeit noch an klaren Gestaltungskonzeptionen für eine umfassende Bereitstellung von Informationen für den Bürger. Aus diesem Grunde erscheint es interessant, einen Blick nach Schweden zu werfen, wo man bereits seit Beginn der siebziger Jahre Erfahrungen mit dem Ausbau des Bürgerservices - der Bürgerinformation - hat sammeln können. Der vorliegende Artikel skizziert einige der schwedischen Lösungsansätze auf zentralstaatlicher und kommunaler Ebene
