- Abstract
- Internet und Intranet eröffnen völlig neue Perspektiven in der Informationsverarbeitung. Bereiche, in denen die Gestaltung der Außenbeziehungen eine hohe strategische Bedeutung hat, stehen vor der Herausforderung, sich mit den neuen Techniken des Internet beschäftigen zu müssen. Auch wenn die kurzfristigen wirtschaftlichen Erfolge nicht unmittelbar in monetären Größen bewertet werden können, droht bei Ignorieren dieser Technologie ein Imageverlust gegenüber der Konkurrenz. Es spricht vieles dafür, daß die Erfolgspotentiale von Internet und Intranet in den nächsten Jahren nur dann realisiert werden können, wenn die dafür notwendigen Lernprozesse bereits jetzt eingeleitet werden

- Die gemeinsame Nutzung von Programmen, Daten und Dokumenten auf einem Server ist in vielen Organisationen üblich. Erst aber mit der Etablierung eines Intranet wird eine kostengünstige Möglichkeit geschaffen, sowohl sachliche Kontexte durch Verlinkung darzustellen als auch zielgerichtete Zugriffe auf den Datenbestand über automatisch erzeugte Indizes zu ermöglichen. Beim Aufbau der neuen Hochschul- und Kreisbibliothek Bonn-Rhein-Sieg erweist sich das Intranet als wichtiges Hilfsmittel für alle Beteiligten

- Abstract
- Der Beitrag beschreibt eine Usability-Studie zur Evaluation eines betrieblichen IntranetAngebots zum Thema Multimediales Lernen. Es wurde eine mehrstufige, kombinierte Evaluation durchgeführt eine heuristische Evaluation mit den neu entwickelten Heuristicsfor Web Communication als expertenorientierte Methode und ein Produkttest (Benutzertest) im Usability-Labor mit der Methode des lauten Denkens als benutzerorientierte Methode. Die Durchführung der Studie wird beschrieben und die Methoden diskutiert. Die Heuristics for Web Communication benötigen geschulte Gutachter, sind schnell und einfach anzuwenden und unterstützen ein systematisches Vorgehen beim Entdecken von Usability-Problemen. Die Evaluation mit den Heuristiken ist gut kombinierbar mit einem Benutzertest und ergänzt ihn, indem sie Usability-Probleme aufdeckt, die in Produkttests vermutlich nicht gefunden werden. Der Aufwand für den Produkttest ist sehr hoch, er liefert anschauliche und aussagekräftige Aussagen von echten Nutzern und rechtfertigt unter Umständen den Aufwand

- Auch eine relativ kleine Fachhochschulbibliothek wie die FH Iserlohn und Hagen muss sich heute den Herausforderungen durch neue Medien und Kommunikationsmöglichkeiten stellen. Studierende wie Lehrende wollen in zunehmenden Maße elektronische Medien nutzen. Das Intranet der FH bietet den Hochschulangehörigen bereits eine ganze Menge; daneben hat es aber auch Auswirkungen auf innerbetriebliche Arbeitsabläufe
