    Abstract
    Beschrieben wird die Entwicklung eines Systems, das auf Basis einer Point Of Interest-Datenbank eine automatische Freizeitplanung durchführt. Nach Auswahl eines Tagesthemas wie z. B. "Tag in der Natur" oder "Tag zu zweit", entwirft das System einen thematisch passenden Tagesplan mit mehreren Etappen in zeitlicher Abfolge. Zunächst wird das entwickelte System grob vorgestellt, gefolgt von einem Überblick über ähnliche aktuelle Forschungen. Im Anschluss folgen eine kurze Einführung in den Mashup-Begriff sowie eine Beschreibung der vom System genutzten Dienste. Schließlich werden die Komponenten des Systems erklärt und ein Ausblick in die Zukunft der POI-Dienste und -Suchmaschinen gegeben.

    Abstract
    Die Frankfurter Buchmesse (8. bis 13. Ok-tober 2003) steht für ein jährliches und weltweit beachtetes Medienevent. Die DGI (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Informa-tionswissenschaft und Informationspraxis) lud am 10. Oktober 2003 zu einem Special Interest Forum "Jenseits von Google - Wissens- und Informationslösungen im Vergleich". In ihrer Begrüßungsrede betonte die DGI-Präsidentin Dr. Gabriele Beger die Rolle der Kunden. Bekannte Informationsdienstleister präsentierten ihre Lösungen.     Abstract
    Am 29. und 30. Oktober 2009 fand in der Königlichen Bibliothek in Den Haag das zweite internationale UDC-Seminar zum Thema "Classification at a Crossroad" statt. Organisiert wurde diese Konferenz - wie auch die erste Konferenz dieser Art im Jahr 2007 - vom UDC-Konsortium (UDCC). Im Mittelpunkt der diesjährigen Veranstaltung stand die Erschließung des World Wide Web unter besserer Nutzung von Klassifikationen (im Besonderen natürlich der UDC), einschließlich benutzerfreundlicher Repräsentationen von Informationen und Wissen. Standards, neue Technologien und Dienste, semantische Suche und der multilinguale Zugriff spielten ebenfalls eine Rolle. 135 Teilnehmer aus 35 Ländern waren dazu nach Den Haag gekommen. Das Programm umfasste mit 22 Vorträgen aus 14 verschiedenen Ländern eine breite Palette, wobei Großbritannien mit fünf Beiträgen am stärksten vertreten war. Die Tagesschwerpunkte wurden an beiden Konferenztagen durch die Eröffnungsvorträge gesetzt, die dann in insgesamt sechs thematischen Sitzungen weiter vertieft wurden.

    Abstract
    Nach der Veröffentlichung einer deutschen Übersetzung der Dewey Decimal Classification 22 im Oktober 2005 und ihrer Nutzung zur Inhaltserschließung in der Deutschen Nationalbibliographie seit Januar 2006 stellt sich aus Sicht der deutschen kunsthistorischen Spezialbibliotheken die Frage nach einer möglichen Verwendung der DDC und ihrer generellen Eignung zur Inhalterschließung kunsthistorischer Publikationen. Diese Frage wird vor dem Hintergrund der bestehenden bibliothekarischen Strukturen für die Kunstgeschichte sowie mit Blick auf die inhaltlichen Besonderheiten, die Forschungsmethodik und die publizistischen Traditionen dieses Faches erörtert.

    Abstract
    Unser Projekt soll eine Kreuzkonkordanz zwischen den Universalklassifikationen wie der "Regensburger Verbundsklassifikation (RVK)" und der "Basisklassifikation (BK)" sowie den Fachklassifikationen "Mathematics Subject Classification (MSC2010)" und "Physics and Astronomy Classification Scheme (PACS2010)" in den Fachgebieten Mathematik und Physik herstellen. Fazit: "Die klassifikatorische Übereinstmmung zwischen Regensburger Verbundklassifikation und Physics and Astronomy Classification Scheme war in einzelnen Fachbereichen (z. B. Kernphysik) recht gut. Doch andere Fachbereiche (z.B. Polymerphysik, Mineralogie) stimmten sehr wenig überein. Insgesamt konnten wir 890 einfache Verbindungen erstellen. Mehrfachverbindungen wurden aus technischen Gründen nicht mitgezählt. Das Projekt war insgesamt sehr umfangreich, daher konnte es im Rahmen der zwanzig Projekttage nicht erschöpfend behandelt werden. Eine Weiterentwicklung, insbesondere hinsichtlich des kollektiven Zuganges in Form eines Webformulars und der automatischen Klassifizierung erscheint jedoch sinnvoll."

    In a democratic system, the preservation of the archival heritage is designed to facilitate the understanding and control of the activities of public bodies and needs to be safeguarded. In recent years some progress has been made in archival legislation. However, archives continue to exercise only a marginal influence on records management, and are being faced with new problems as a result of office modernisation. Argues that in this situation it is important for archives to take responsibility for records outside the official government remit, as in a pluralistic society there is a general public interest in them

    Abstract
    This dissertation aims at representing concepts of medical subjects as well as statements on medical subjects independent of medical terminology, in order to overcome the problems of interpretation and further elaboration of entries in an ordering system such as SNOMED, MeSH-Thesaurus or ICD Classification. The approach of a compositional, semantic language analysis developed here implies specific demands from a conceptual modelling and utilizes the following methods: (1) a characteristics-based grammar formalism for represenatation of terminological structures, to be analyzed, (2) a terminological representation formalism for a conceptual-intensionally-oriented representation of a concept system, and (3) a modified chart-parser for grammatical derivation
