- Abstract
- Internationale Film- und Fernsehgeschichte ist vielerorts dokumentiert, nicht nur in der Bibliothek der Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen Babalsberg (HFF). Aber eine wirklich umfassende Dokumentation der DDR-Film- und Mediengeschichte gibt es nur an der HFF. Einen besonderen Schwerpunkt zur DEFA bietet das dortige Zeitungsausschnittarchiv. Um hier einmalige Originale vor Zerstörung durch zu intensiven Recherchebetrieb zu schützen, wurde eine elektronische Archivlösung realisiert, die in der Vorbereitung der Zeitungsdokumente für den Scanvorgang die größten Probleme aufwarf. Nun kann bei der HFF auch in diesen Altbeständen elektronisch recherchiert werden

- Abstract
- Es wird ein Datenbanksystem vorgestellt, mit dem die Arbeit in Presse- sowie Informations- und Dokumentationsabteilungen (IuD-Abteilungen) von Unternehmen und Regierungsstellen im Sinne des Workgrouping so gut koordiniert werden kann, daß Doppelarbeit weitgehend vermieden wird und beide Abteilungen einen Zusatznutzen haben. Das gesamte Datenbanksystem (genannt 'Multimedia-Pressesystem') besteht aus bis zu 20 miteinander verbundenen Datenbanken, die möglichst viele Archivierungsaufgaben und sonstige Arbeitsgänge von IuD- und Presseabteilungen erleichtern sollen. Zentrum dieses Pressesystems ist eine umfassende Mediendatenbank, in der alle verschiedene Dokumenttypen verwaltet und gemeinsam durchsucht werden können. Audio- und Videodateien von Radio- und Fernsehberichten können in der Datenbank selbst im Original abgehört oder betrachtet werden. Internetseiten können in der Datenbank im Volltext indexiert und aus der Datenbank heraus können auch alle Textdokumente im HTML-Format automatisch erzeugt werden. Der Beitrag zeigt, wie die Mediendatenbank all die Dokumente aufnimmt und indexiert, die bei der elektronischen Zusammenstellung eines Pressespiegels mit OCR entstehen

- Die Abteilung Presse- und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit der DLR bietet mit zahlreichen Materialien umfassende Informationen über die Forschungs- und Entwicklungsarbeit der DLR im gesamten Spektrum Luftfahrt - Raumfahrt - Energietechnik. Die angebotenen Medien waren bis zum Frühjahr 1991 nur durch unzulängliche konventionelle Erschließungsmittel zugänglich. Oft wurde gänzlich ohne Erschließung gearbeitet, also das 'gute Gedächtnis' der Mitarbeiter der Pressestelle benutzt. Da die Bestände weiterhin stark wuchsen, drohte der Überblick gänzlich verloren zugehen. Man entschloß sich, die Dokumentation völlig neu aufzubauen und eine Datenbank zu installieren, um die Informationsflut zu bewältigen

- Records management has appeared lately in France to designate the management of organizational documents and electronic data an enterprise must retain as proof of its activities and transactions. An international standard is under discussion to address issues concerned with retention. At the same time, some information professionals are finding themselves increasingly involved with active company records, since the role of records manager requires skills found in the professions of archivists, information scientist and quality controller. Zu diesem Zweck wurden 100 aktuelle Fallstudien aus England, Deutschland, Italien und Frankreich analysiert sowie schriftliche und mündliche Interviews mit einer Auswahl von Anwenderorganisationen durchgeführt. Aus den Fallstudienanalysen und den Interviewergebnissen wurden Empfehlungen abgeleitet, die potentielle Anwender bei der Einführung von elektronischen Dokumenten-Management-Systemen beachten sollten

- Dokumenten.Management-Systeme und elektronische Archivsysteme müssen im praktischen Einsatz 2 zentralen Ansprüchen genügen. Einmal muß die Möglichkeit vorhanden sein, in heterogenen, verteilten und offenen Systemen veränderliche Informationen verarbeiten zu können. Darüber hinaus müssen diese Informationen jedoch sicher auf optischen Speichermedien archiviert werden können. Zur Erfüllung dieser beiden zentralen Bedingungen müssen entsprechende Systemarchitekturen vorhanden sein.
