    1997 begann die SUB Göttingen mit dem Aufbau des Intranet; Schwerpunkt war die Verbesserung der innerbetrieblichen Kommunikation. Ein einheitlicher Seitenaufbau, angelehnt an die Homepage der Bibliothek, eine klare und unkomplizierte Gliederung und die ständige Aktualisierung sind wichtige Voraussetzungen, damit das Intranet auch angenommen wird.     Abstract
    Überblick über die Datennetze im Forschungszentrum Jülich. Im Mittelpunkt steht dabei der Zusammenhang zwischen den speziellen Anforderungen und Anwendungen eines zentralen Informationsdienstleisters (Zentralbibliothek) und der daraus resultierenden Gestaltung und Strukturierung der Datennetze.     Die gemeinsame Nutzung von Programmen, Daten und Dokumenten auf einem Server ist in vielen Organisationen üblich. Erst aber mit der Etablierung eines Intranet wird eine kostengünstige Möglichkeit geschaffen, sowohl sachliche Kontexte durch Verlinkung darzustellen als auch zielgerichtete Zugriffe auf den Datenbestand über automatisch erzeugte Indizes zu ermöglichen. A survey from the Deloitte & Touche Consulting Group of UK information technology directors concluded that information overload was being widely experience4d and that intranets had scarcely been used so far.
