    Abstract
    Dieses Werk ist der Wissenschaft gewidmet, der Geschichte und über die Logik der Forschung, über die Rolle, die die Hypothesen spielen und die Einbildungskraft und über die Methode der Nachprüfung. Es gibt Bücher, die werden als Klassiker bezeichnet, weil sie zwei Eigenschaften haben: (1) Jeder ist der Meinung, dieses Buch müsse man gelesen haben, und (2) niemand hat es wirklich gelesen. Im Zeitablauf bildet sich dann der Mythos, dieses Werk zähle zur Rubrik der Klassiker oder Must-Reads. Karl Poppers "Klassiker" (im positiven Sinne) gehört mit Sicherheit in diese Kategorie. Schade ist daran, daß "Logik der Forschung" aus diesem Grunde scheinbar mit einer ungebührlichen Ehrfurcht und Scheu betrachtet wird. Dabei ist es nicht nur verständlich geschrieben, sondern in Teilen geradezu unterhaltsam zu lesen! (Das glaubt jetzt wahrscheinlich wieder keiner!) "Logik der Forschung" bietet jedem wissenschaftlich Interessierten einen grundlegenden Zugang zu den Methoden der empirischen Wissenschaft. Dort, wo viele Bücher über wissenschaftliche und/oder statistische Methoden anfangen, geht Popper noch einen oder zwei Schritte zurück, indem er dem Leser erst einmal plausibel macht, WARUM es eigentlich nötig ist, Althergebrachtes neu zu hinterfragen und sich von traditionellen Vorstellungen zu lösen. Jedem, der wissenschaftlich arbeiten oder nur kritisch denken will, sei dieses Buch ans Herz gelegt. Denn jede noch so moderne wissenschaftliche Methode läßt sich nicht zweckmäßig anwenden und vor allem interpretieren, wenn einem nicht z.B. die Induktionsproblematik geläufig ist, die Tatsache, daß sich Theorien und Modelle empirisch nicht verifizieren, sondern nur falsifizieren lassen. (Nach dem Motto: "Ich habe bisher nur schwarze Raben gesehen, also sind alle Raben schwarz!") Dieses Buch schult den kritischen Geist und ist deshalb eigentlich für jeden interessant. Darüber hinaus ist es wirklich gut geschrieben, vor allem im ersten Teil. Eine wirklich lohnende Investition. Laßt es nicht zum verstaubten "Klassiker" verkommen!!!

    Abstract

    Abstract
    CyberMedienWirklichkeit ist ein Buch, welches man nicht mehr so schnell aus der Hand legt. Wir bewegen uns heutzutage mehr in der Virtualität, als mancher es für möglich hält. Wirklichkeit ist kein fester Begriff mehr, den man sich sicher sein sollte; Wirklichkeit ist ein Netz voller Spannungen und Gegenspannungen, die erst in der Konstruktion dieser ihre Existenz konstituieren. Die Welten des Cyberspace wurden nach dem Platzen der New Economy-Blase allzu sehr unterschätzt, was dem Gegenstand allerdings einfach nicht gebührt. Gerade weil wir nicht wissen, wohin die Reise geht, kommt es darauf an, diesen Vorteil effizient auszunutzen - wie das geschehen kann, zeigt in der gegenwärtigen deutschen Virtualitätsliteratur niemand anderes besser als der Bonner Publizist Goedart Palm. Fazit: Unbedingt lesen! Wer das nicht tut, verpasst etwas.

Einst Hype, heute eher Normalität, würde ich den Zustand beschreiben, in dem e-Learning sich heute befindet. Von den Befürwortern als das Selbstverständlichste aufgefasst, fristet es in der Realität der Lernlandschaft immer noch ein Schattendasein. In meiner zweiten Rezension zu diesem Thema - das Moodle-Praxisbuch - geht es vor allem um den Einsatz und die Entwicklung einer virtuellen Lernumgebung. In diesem Buch aber geht es um Didaktik. Allein das Thema Didaktik in einem Buch, das sich mit eLearning beschäftigt, mutet dem Laien allenfalls sonderbar, wenn nicht paradox an. Doch wie in einer realen Lernsituation ist die Didaktik der Schlüssel zum Erfolg, will doch der Lehrende (dort Trainer, hier der Autor der eLearningEinheit) Wissen erfolgreiche an die Teilnehmerlnnen transferieren. Ein Transfer gelingt nur dann, wenn der Lernende den Inhalt versteht, sich merkt und auf seine Lebenssituationen (privat oder beruflich) umsetzt. Und schon sind wir mittendrin in der Besprechung des Buches, denn dem Autorenpaar geht es um das Ziel des erfolgreichen Wissenstransfers im Rahmen eines e-Learning Unterrichts. Kurz zum Inhalt: das Buch beginnt mit einer schönen und nicht ausschweifenden Einführung, welche Tools im Werkzeugkasten des eLearning überhaupt zur Verfügung stehen. Dieses Kapitel ist recht allgemein gehalten, so dass es auch 2 Jahre nach seinem Erscheinen noch nicht überholt ist. Gerade die dynamische Entwicklung im Bereich des Web 2.0 wird vieles im e-Learning ermöglichen, wovon heute nur selten in virtuellen Klassenräumen Gebrauch gemacht wird. Dann endlich das Kernstück des Buches, die Methoden der Online-Seminarpraxis. Schön untergliedert in die Phasen des Unterrichts - Vorbereitung, Beginn, Durchführung, Reflexion und Transfer - bietet es zahlreiche Methoden und Tipps. Ob es 101 sind weiss ich nicht, aber dafür nicht nur eine ganze Menge, sondern auch voll mit praktischen Hinweisen aus der Lehrerfahrung der beiden Autoren. Gelungen fand ich auch die konkrete Realisation - sprich den Text, den die Trainer und die Teilnehmerlnnen für die Übungen jeweils schufen. Ich kann dieses Buch durchaus empfehlen - ich hatte einiges für meine eigene e-Learning-Praxis abgucken oder weiterentwickeln können. Aber, und das betonen die Autoren immer wieder, es kommt schlussendlich immer auf die eigene Umsetzung und das Gespür im Umgang mit den Teilnehmerlnnen an. Wichtig ist, mit der Praxis zu beginnen. Dieses Buch ist ein gelungener Einstieg."

    Abstract
    Medien sind der Treibstoff der Wissensgesellschaft. Unsere Gehirne sind ihr Motor. Dieses Buch führt Medienwissenschaften, Neurobiologie, Kognitionsforschung und evolutionäre Anthropologie zusammen zu einem disziplinübergreifenden Verständnis der Dynamiken von Mensch und (Medien-)Kultur. Matthias Uhl lässt deutlich werden, dass die Wahrnehmung und Wirkung medialer Kommunikation nur vor dem Hintergrund eines empiriebasierten Menschenbildes umfassend begriffen werden kann. Wer den Zusammenhang von Stimulus, Sinn und Synapse in den Köpfen der Bewohner des dritten Jahrtausends verstehen will, kommt an diesem Buch nicht vorbei.

    Abstract
    Medien bedeuten Macht. Kann das Internet Bertelsmann, Time Warner und Rupert Murdoch gefährlich werden? Großunternehmen versuchen auch die neuen Medien zu kapitalisieren, doch im globalen, dezentralen Kommunikationsnetz gelten andere Spielregeln.
