    Abstract
    Elektronische Produktion, Verbreitung und Rezeption von Texten - deren integrative Wechselbeziehungen eingeschlossen - verändern unausweichlich unsere Forschungs-, Lernund Arbeitsbedingungen. In diesem Wandel braucht es Orientierung, Strategien und Kompetenzen. Dieser Band bietet sie in interdisziplinärer Vielfalt. Teil 1 befaßt sich mit Wissen und Wissenschaft. Er spannt den Bogen der Medientheorie von der Antike bis ins 21. Jahrhundert und bietet einen konstruktivistischen Ansatz für das Wissensmanagement. Textsortenkonventionen und Hypertext sind ebenso Schwerpunkte wie empiriegestützte Guidelines und innovative Werkzeuge für das wissenschaftliche Arbeiten. Teil 2 ist Lernumgebungen gewidmet. Reflexionen zur Theorie von hypermedialem Lernen und Kognition werden ergänzt durch ein Produktionssystem für interaktive Software. Eine Felduntersuchungvergleicht Varianten kooperativen Schreibens, ein Schreibdidaktik-Projekt vermittelt zwischen Studium und Beruf. Teil 3 vereint unter dem Titel «Domänen der Praxis» empirische Erhebungen zur Text(re)produktion und elektronischen Kommunikation im Berufsalltag, die Konzeption eines Werkzeugs für die Übersetzungsarbeit und den Ausblick auf kulturspezifische Web-Sites in der Wirtschaft.

    Abstract
    Multimedia wird unser Leben vermutlich ähnlich einschneidend verändern, wie der Buchdruck im 15. Jahrhundert unsere gesamte Kultur revolutioniert hat. Welche Veränderungen die neue Kommunikationstechnologie bringen wird, hängt nicht nur von der Hard- und Software der Multimediasysteme ab, sondern auch von der Hard- und Software des Menschen - von Gehirnprozessen und psychologischen 'Programmen' beim Denken, Wahrnehmen und Fühlen. Die Möglichkeiten, aber auch die Grenzen multimedialer Information werden deutlich, wenn man sich etwa vor Augen führt, wie viel Information wir allein beim Sehen ausblenden, wie wir Information im Gedächtnis abspeichern, wie wir verschiedenen Sinne synchronisieren. Auch für Medien gilt: Weniger ist manchmal mehr. Wenn man das Buch in die Hand nimmt und die Demonstrationsprogramme auf der beiliegenden CD-ROM dazu anschaut, wird man verstehen, warum es immer noch gewinnbringend ist, ein Buch zu lesen, und warum es durch ein elektronisches Medium sinnvoll ergänzt werden kann

    Abstract
    Ausgehend von den technischen Möglichkeiten bei der Präsentation von Geschichte mit Hilfe sogenannter Autorensysteme werden hier Perspektiven und Potenzial aber auch neue Schwierigkeiten z.B. hinsichtlich der Oualitätssicherung erörtert. Während dergrößte Vorteil sicher in der leichterzugänglichen mehrdimensionalen Rezeption zu sehen ist, gilt es künftig, auch bei der multimedialen Präsentation den wissenschaftlichen Ansprüchen zu genügen. Nach einer allgemeinen Betrachtung über den Einsatz multimedialer Techniken gibt der Beitrag einen Überblick über die Auswahl eines Autorensystems und den Beginn der Konzeptionsphase.

    Abstract

    Abstract
    In diesem Beitrag wird anhand praktischer Beispiele von Internet-Angeboten aufgezeigt wie weitgehend und umfassend Informations-Design bei der Formung von multimedialen Kommunikationslösungen beteiligt ist und welche Aspekte dabei wichtig sind. Es werden konzeptionell-strategische Gesamtaspekte beleuchtet und funktional-optisch wichtige Details aufgezeigt. Die Bedeutung von Informations-Design für die Oualität von vor allem elektronischen Publikationen und Anwendungen wird im Hinblick auf den Anwendernutzen dargestellt.

    Abstract
    Lang schon bemüht sich unser Verein, seine gesammelte Schätze, Exponate und Nachlässe einer interessierten Öffentlichkeit zu präsentieren; denn nur so lassen sich breitere Unterstützung und nachhaltiges Interesse für die Film- und Fernsehstadt Hamburg und ihre Geschichte auf Dauer gewinnen und eventuell sogar das geneigte Engagement von Sponsoren bewegen. Doch über wenige Ausstellungen und die Schaukästen im (ehemaligen) Landesmedienzentrum hinaus reichten bislang Kraft und Finanzen nicht. So reifte die Idee, es doch auf mindestens kostengeringe Weise virtuell zu probieren, zumal die Zeit dafür reif ist, Knowhow und Gerätschaften vorhanden sind oder sich allmählich anschaffen ließen und das Medium Film mit seinen visuellen Reizen dazu gerade angetan ist, es auf HTML-Seiten mit allerlei Fenstern, bewegten Szenarien und Links zu präsentieren. Ein virtuelles Museum für Film und Fernsehen, das könnte auch in heutiger Zeit mit klammen öffentlichen Kassen ein kleines Highlight sein, obendrein das erste in seiner Art, wie unsere Recherchen erwiesen haben. Denn die realen in Berlin, Potsdam, Frankfurt/M., München und Düsseldorf begnügen sich (noch?) mit wenigen, nur ankündigenden Websites; sie wollen die Besucher ja in ihr Haus locken und dürfen nicht allzu freigiebig im WWW alles offenbaren.

    Abstract
    In der Multimedia-Industrie herrscht weitgehende Kklarheit darüber, wie die technologische Zukunft in diesem Bereich aussehen soll - weniger klar sind die wirtschaftlichen Prognosen. Die hängen nämlich von denen ab, die die neuen Multimedia-Produkte und -dienstleistungen kaufen sollen und noch weitgehend im Unklaren darüber sind, was auf sie zukommt. Genau das hat das Institut für Zukunftsstudien und Technologiebewertung in Berlin im Auftrag des Büros für Technikfolgen-Abschätzung beim Deutschen Bundestag analysiert und eine Studie vorgelegt zum Thema 'Multimedia im Privathaushalt; Grundlagen, Chancen und Herausforderungen'. Kritische Literatur zu diesem Themenkreis hat bislang allerdings Seltenheitswert: Wer sich als Leser nicht mit unbegründeten Floskeln oder flauen Kochrezepten für Multimedia-Software zufrieden gibt, muss lange suchen. Michael Kerres, Professor für Pädagogische Psychologie mit Schwerpunkt Medien an der Ruhr-Universität Bochum und obendrein Gründer der Tele-Akademie der Fachhochschule Furtwangen, ebnet mit seinem Buch den Weg für eine differenzierte Auseinandersetzung. 'Multimediale und telemediale Lernumgebungen' spannt einen weiten Bogen. Dieser beginnt bei der Geschichte von Ansätzen wie Behaviourismus und Konstruktivismus sowie entsprechender Lernsoftware und führt über Konzeptionsfragen, insbesondere der Zielanalyse, bis hin zu konkreten Entwicklungsverfahren mit Prototypen und Evaluation. Sogar kurze Handreichungen etwa zur Filmproduktion und zur Kostenschätzung fehlen nicht. Der Schreibstil gerät hier und dort so akademisch-sperrig wie schon der Titel - hier liegt vielleicht eine Verbesserungsmöglichkeit für die nächste Auflage. Erfreulich ist, dass Kerres das Für und Wider nicht nur am grünen Tisch abwägt, sondem auf unzählige Studien zugreift und diese sogar noch kritisch einordnet. Er hütet sich vor Pauschalisierungen: Für ihn ist ein Medium nicht als solches gut oder schlecht; vielmehr lässt sich dessen Qualität nur an Hand der Kommunikationsziele beurteilen."

    Abstract
    Der Einsatz von Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien (luK) ist in der Aus- und Weiterbildung weltweit auf dem Vormarsch. In den Hochschulen, aber auch in den Medien, ist die Diskussion über den 'Mythos' Virtuelle Universität voll entbrannt. Unternehmen, Verlage und Netzprovider erhoffen Geschäfte. Die Erwartungen in bezug auf den Einsatz von luKTechnologien erreichen dabei z.T. schwindelerreggende Höhen. Auch die Politik denkt darüber nach, ob durch wiederverwendbare multimediale 'Lehrkonserven' eine Entlastung bei der Finanzierung von Hochschulbudgets erreichbar ist Es stellt sich mithin die Frage nach den realen Möglichkeiten der luK-gestützten Ausbildung, insbesondere im Routinebetrieb, abseits von manch spektakulären Events. In diesem Beitrag werden die Möglichkeiten technologieunterstützten Telelernens analysiert. Der Schwerpunkt liegt dabei auf der Nutzung von "Computer Supported Cooperative Work" - Systemen (CSCW) sowie der Videokonferenztechnik. Telelernen hat viele Facetten, u.a. Einsatz von neuer luK-Technik, Analysen des Kommunikationsprozesses, Wirtschaftlichkeitsanalysen von Ausbildungsgängen, Image der Bildungseinrichtung, Didaktische und Mediendidaktische Modelle. Beim Einsatz von luK-Technologien in der Ausbildung werden verschiedene Szenarien diskutiert
